Author, Speaker, Advisor
Charlotte Otter is an author, speaker and advisor. Having worked in large companies, including leading global communications teams, she now advises a wide range of clients on reputation, change communications and building effective communications teams.
With global experience in companies such as SAP and Anglo American, and clients ranging from BASF and Siemens to smaller start-ups, Charlotte is acutely sensitive to the needs of global audiences and crafting stories and messaging that lands.
In a world of wall-to-wall digital noise, it is stories and our humanity that break through.
Author
Charlotte is the author of two novels and her first business book We Need New Leaders will be published in June 2025.
The book sits at the intersection of reputation, leadership and diversity and is based on novel research that she conducted as part of an MSc programme in Change Leadership at HEC Paris and Oxford Saïd Business School as well as over 40 interviews with leaders from diverse backgrounds.
Speaker
Charlotte is available as a public speaker and moderator, and her most recent keynote at the Global Marketing Summit in Istanbul was on ‘The Marketer of the Future – Telling Genuine Stories to Inspire Audiences.’
Advisor
As an advisor, Charlotte works in two main ways: one-to-one with executives helping with positioning, reputation management and thought leadership and as a mentor to new and upcoming communications teams.
Why Reputation Matters
While building a personal brand is important, reputation goes two ways. It is what we say about ourselves, but also what others say about us. Reputations are built based on expertise and character but also the ability to provide context in a confusing and challenging world.
Charlotte works directly with executives to define their expertise, credibility and passion, and from there to create content pillars for a thought leadership strategy.
